We are thrilled to announce that Allie Pepper, our ambassador for menopause at Besins Healthcare, has reached another milestone in her mountaineering journey. On July 29th at 2:04 PM, Allie summited K2, the world's second highest peak, at 8,611 meters.
Known for its extreme difficulty, K2 is a formidable challenge. Allie used supplemental oxygen at 8,320 meters due to the harsh conditions, underscoring the immense challenges she faced. Reflecting on her ascent, Allie shared : "At 2:04 PM on July 29th, we summited K2. However, I did not achieve the summit without supplemental oxygen. At 8,320 meters, I made the decision to use it to continue. Otherwise, I would have had to turn back due to the time and how slow I was going. K2, we will see you again! What a beast of a mountain."
Allie's goal is to climb the 14 highest peaks without supplemental oxygen. Despite needing oxygen on K2, her achievement is a testament to her determination and resilience. As Allie and her partner Mikel return from K2 Base Camp, we celebrate her success and indomitable spirit.
